A great way to tell someone how much you love them. This is a great book.
I absolutely love it. "Guess How Much I Love You" is all about a father expressing his love for his child. This is my favorite book to read to my little baby boy. As a father, I find that many of the stories involving parents are told from a mother's perspective (for example, "Where's Spot," which is also a great book).
That is why I glued the last page to the back cover. The illustrations are simple and in low contrast colors. And, his mom always has an answer that "one-ups" the baby. I don't think it's fair to say it's always the parent. But, I feel like it should end one page early - the baby hare is trying so hard, does mom hare really have to one-up him after he falls asleep.
This book is very cute. I think that's why my 10 month old isn't very interested in it - he loves his high contrast pictures. I would like this story much better if it ended one page earlier at a draw. The baby hare comes up with all kinds of ways of expressing his love for his mother.
Sure, no child loves their parent the same way a parent loves their child, but who loves the other one more. Perhaps older children would appreciate the drawings better. He's very creative. That part is also cute.
My son never picks it out and won't sit still for it. I think this is an adorable story and thought my son / husband would enjoy reading it together.
Lousy message to send a kid. No matter what LNH says, BNH's response is MORE. Translation: you're sweet, but no matter what you say or do, I'm better. Little Nutbrown Hare (why couldn't he/she have a NAME.). The "love" part is fine, the comparison & competition is not. Okay. LOVES Big Nutbrown Hare. BNH loves LHN MORE.
